  1. Privacy Policy

    Pulitzer Arts Foundation (the “Pulitzer”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our online visitors. The terms of this Privacy Policy govern all online interactions with www.pulitzerarts.org (the “Website”), and a link to this policy is included in the footer information on every page of the Website. Your use of the Website or communication with the Foundation by email constitutes your agreement to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
  2. How We Use the Information You Provide

    We use the information you provide to personalize the Website so that we can better meet your needs, fulfill your online order, facilitate service to our patrons, and inform you of the Pulitzer’s exhibitions, events, programs, publications, resources, tours, and promotional offers. Our use of visitor information varies with the type of visit or transaction. For details about each transaction type, see each of the sections below.
  3. Subscribing to Our Newsletter and Mailing List

    You may use the Website without registering or submitting any personal information. However, you may subscribe to receive our free email newsletter and other communications that we send to our mailing list. Subscribers to our email newsletter and mailing list may opt out at any time by following the “unsubscribe” instructions included in each email message.

    We use Constant Contact® to administer our email newsletter and mailing list. If you subscribe to our newsletter and mailing list, you will be directed to the Constant Contact website where you will enter your name and email address. This personal information does not reside on our servers, but resides on the Constant Contact servers. The Privacy Statement, Security Policy, and Terms and Conditions of Use of the Constant Contact website are found at www.constantcontact.com. Our newsletters are loaded to Constant Contact and then distributed. We have the ability to download the list of subscribers to our newsletter. We do not share this information with third parties.
  4. Purchase of Catalogues and Other Publications

    We use PayPal® for settlement of sales of our catalogues and other publications. If you purchase a catalogue or other publication on the Website, you will be directed to the PayPal website for settlement. The personal information that you provide to PayPal that is necessary to fulfill your online order if you do not have an existing PayPal account may include your name, address, telephone number, email address, and credit card number. This information does not reside on our servers, but resides on the PayPal servers. PayPal then sends us a confirmation of the sale including your name and address, which we then use for shipment purposes. We do not use this information for any other purpose.   5. Surveys

    The Pulitzer may occasionally ask for feedback and publishes surveys on the Website or through a reputable third-party service provider. Your participation in these surveys is on a voluntary and anonymous basis, unless otherwise specified. We use the survey responses to improve our understanding of you, our visitors, and to determine how best to serve your needs. Information collected in these surveys is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
  6. Social Media and Our Blog

    We welcome your participation in our communities on various social media sites, which may include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, and Foursquare. Please note that the privacy policies of these organizations and companies may differ from ours. Your name and email address are required to post comments on the blog. The Pulitzer will not use these email addresses in any way, unless permission to do so is specifically requested and granted. We will not share these email addresses with any third parties for marketing purposes.
  7. Gallery Visitors

    We solicit names and email addresses from our gallery visitors on a voluntary basis. They are added to our mailing list, which is used to send regular emails, such as invitations, quarterly programming guides, special programs, etc. This information is maintained in a database on our server but is not shared with third parties.
  8. Emailing the Pulitzer

    If you email the Pulitzer, any message, material, business information, ideas, concepts, or other information sent to the Pulitzer by email will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary.
  9. Cookies

    The Website may use technologies such as “cookies,” or small data files that are automatically sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. These technologies do not contain any personal information about you; they may be used to gather information to analyze traffic to the Website, to improve our content and navigation, to enhance our marketing efforts, to personalize your experience, and to provide online display advertising tailored to your interests based on your online behavior.

    You may choose to set your browser so that it does not accept cookies. Most areas of the Website will function without cookies, but for an optimal experience with our site, we recommend that you allow cookies.

    We also subscribe to Google Analytics, which provides information regarding number of hits on the Website as well as the specific pages to which visitors are going. This information is used to help us develop a more effective website. We do not receive any information regarding the personal identity of the visitor.

    The Pulitzer engages reputable third-party vendors in order to help us manage the Website, process transactions, better respond to the needs of our visitors, and enhance our marketing efforts.

    The Pulitzer takes special care to protect the safety and privacy of children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

    We are located in the United States of America, and in using the website, you explicitly acknowledge and consent to the collection, storage, and processing of your personal information in the United States and to having the laws of the United States govern the collection, storage, and processing of your personal data.

    The Pulitzer may revise this Privacy Policy at any time by posting the revised Privacy Policy on the Website and by sending email notification of such revision to the Pulitzer’s then-current mailing list of subscribers who have not opted out or unsubscribed from receiving email communications from the Pulitzer. Your continued use of the Website or our products or services constitutes consideration and your binding acceptance of any such revisions.
